João Paulo Menezes, a student of the IT, Networks and Multimedia Course of the Azores University is the winner of the Technology in the Travel Industry Course prize with the ‘Mobile Activity Search’ project.
During the final module of the course, TTS challenged the students to put into practice the knowledge and techniques they had learned in the previous sessions and apply them to create solutions to help solve specific needs of businesses in the tourism and travel industry.
The ‘Mobile Activity Search’ project consists in an application for mobile devices that provides an easy way for tourists to find points of interest in their surroundings. This app aims to give tourists the necessary autonomy to don’t depend on other sources of information during their vacations. The winner was granted a weekend in Hotel Inglaterra for two and a paid internship at TTS Lab, TTS’ research and development company.
