TTS awards students from the University of the Azores

Bruno Assunção and João Gonçalves, students of the IT, Networks and Multimedia course of the University of the Azores are the proud creators of the project “Where To?” – a mobile application that provides information to users about locations registered in the system and that also allows them to easily find new places to visit by using location-based technology present in mobile devices.

The project was developed during the final module of the Technology in the Travel Industry Course, where TTS challenged students to put into practice the knowledge and techniques they had learned in the previous sessions and apply them to create solutions to help solve specific needs of businesses in the tourism and travel industry.

The winners will enjoy a trip to a European destination offered by TAP and paid internships at TTS Lab.

The first edition of the Technology in the Travel Industry course at the University of the Azores had over 130 entries; over 65 hours of training distributed over 6 modules and presentations by 18 renowned speakers from different areas of the tourism industry.
